Mounting a TV on a Gypsum Wall in Dubai: Fixings That Hold
How to mount a TV on a gypsum wall: finding metal studs, choosing fixings and brackets, avoiding hidden cables and pipes, and when to call a pro.
Meydan's homes are some of the newest in central Dubai, and we help owners clear snag lists, add storage and keep pools, glass and AC in good order.

We are called most often for handyman services, carpentry work and swimming pool services here. Every other service on our list is available too.
New Meydan homes often start life with a list of small fixes and fittings that are easiest to clear in one visit.
Owners add wardrobes, storage walls and custom kitchen units to personalise standard developer finishes.
Villa pools in District One and Sobha Hartland collect construction dust quickly and need regular cleaning and water balancing.
Large sliding systems, glass balustrades and shower screens in newer homes need adjusting and resealing as they bed in.
Dust from nearby construction clogs both ducted villa systems and the fan coil units used in district-cooled apartments.
Meydan grew up around the Meydan Racecourse, inside Mohammed Bin Rashid City and a short drive from Downtown. Today the name covers several newer developments. Sobha Hartland mixes villas, townhouses and apartment towers among green spaces and schools. District One is known for large villas around a lagoon, and there are several apartment developments along Meydan's main roads.
Most property here was completed within roughly the last decade, and new buildings are still handing over. Owners are often moving into a home for the first time, or taking over from a first tenant. That means the work is less about worn-out systems and more about snagging, personalising and protecting a new home.
Developers including Sobha and Meydan play a large part in the area, and each development has its own community or building management. Some buildings use district cooling rather than individual split units, which changes what an AC visit involves.
Meydan Racecourse, home of the Dubai World Cup, gives the area its name, and its grandstand and The Meydan Hotel are the best-known landmarks. The homes sit in separate pockets around it. Sobha Hartland runs along the edge of Ras Al Khor, with views across the creek towards the Downtown skyline. District One is a gated villa area set around a large lagoon. Apartment buildings along Meydan's main roads are often investor-owned and let to tenants, so landlords call as often as owner-occupiers.
The issues we see most often: snag lists after handover; large villas with big glazed walls; ongoing construction nearby; different cooling set-ups; management changing hands.
New homes often come with small defects: uneven grout, sticking doors, missing sealant, loose fittings. Some fall to the developer during the defects period, others the owner must fix.
District One and Sobha Hartland villas use wide sliding doors and large windows. Tracks fill with fine sand from surrounding construction, and seals need checking as buildings settle.
Building work around Meydan brings dust that clogs AC filters, coats pool water and settles in window tracks. Cleaning cycles need to be shorter than in finished communities.
Some apartments run on district cooling with fan coil units, while villas usually have their own ducted systems. The right maintenance depends on which you have.
Newer buildings are often run by the developer at first, with an owners' association and appointed manager taking over later. Permit forms, contacts and work rules can change during that switch. We check the current process with you before each booking.
Mostly newer villas and townhouses, plus apartment buildings and towers.
Each Meydan development runs its own access process. Gated villa communities usually require contractors to be registered for entry, often arranged in advance by the owner or tenant. Apartment buildings typically need a work permit or notification, a lift booking for materials and set delivery times. Exterior changes, pergolas, pools and structural work generally need a NOC from the relevant developer or community management, and tenants also need the landlord's written consent. If your home is still within the developer's defects period, report covered items to the developer before arranging private repairs.

If your home is within the developer's defects period, report defects to them first, keeping photos and written records. Items outside that period, or changes and upgrades you want, are yours to arrange. We can inspect the home, list what we find, and help you separate developer items from work you may want done privately.
Yes. In district-cooled apartments the cooling comes from a central plant, but the fan coil unit, filters, drain tray and thermostat inside your home still need cleaning and checks. We service those parts and tell you if a problem sits with the building's supply, which your building management handles.
Yes. We measure the space, discuss finishes that suit the existing interior, and build and install wardrobes or storage units. Check with your building management about work permits, lift bookings and permitted hours, and we schedule the installation to match.
There is no fixed schedule. Clean the tracks whenever sand builds up, which happens faster while building work continues nearby. If a door feels heavy or drags, the rollers usually need adjusting before they wear the track. It is also worth checking the seals before summer and before the rainy months. We adjust rollers, replace seals and realign frames where needed.
Shared areas such as lagoons, parks, community pools and landscaping are looked after by the community or building management, funded through service charges. Your private pool, garden and everything inside your home are your responsibility, or your landlord's if you rent. If you are unsure where the line sits, check with management first. We handle the private side.
Mohammed Bin Rashid City is one of Dubai's newest districts, so most of our work here is snagging, upgrading and finishing homes that were only recently handed over.
We repair, maintain and refit apartments, offices and shops in Business Bay's canal-side towers, working to each building's permit and loading-bay rules.
We repair, maintain and upgrade apartments, penthouses and offices across Downtown Dubai, from the Old Town low-rises to the towers on the Boulevard and next door in Business Bay and DIFC.
